Default 2015 IS350 F-Sport - Steering Wheel Trim Removal?

Thinking about wrapping the silver trim on the steering wheel with red vinyl to match the seats (as best as possible anyway). Not the paddle shifters, just the plain trim as noted in the image. Does anyone have advice/experience how to disassemble the trim for better access? I'm hesitant to just start pulling at every piece to see where the snap-ins are, afraid to break something.

Thank you in advance for the advice.

I think it'd look better if you get some custom work done on the steering wheel it self. Red leather at 3 and 9 o'clock or 12 and 6 o'clock would look amazing in my opinion.

Thanks for the photo Lee, that does look good. I'm hesitant to make permanent changes - always like to have the option to return to stock.
Has anyone taken apart their steering wheel at all? Seems it should be simple, but I don't want to break anything nor damage the airbag.
Thanks,
Scott

Have you had any luck? I'm also trying to figure out how to get access to that trim

Here is a DIY for removal of the steering wheel. You should only have to remove the airbag or at least release it and move it aside. Disconnect your battery first!! If you plan to remove the entire steering wheel and have a heated steering wheel there are a couple additional connectors to remove. AMHIK so be careful. I have additional pics due to fog light install but haven't posted them yet.

From original posts, I was able to remove the steering wheel. I left the airbag wires attached and could remove the target trim piece to wrap it. The results are here:

Good luck
