Slight vibration in steering wheel at idle (in drive)
Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is normal, but I have noticed a slight vibration in the steering wheel. This happens when the engine is completely warmed up and If I'm sitting at a complete stop in drive (no air conditioning, seat warmers, or headlights on) it happens. It is not a vibration where the idle goes up and down. The rpm gauge shows that it is between a consistent 550-600 rpms. When the headlights or air is on, the idle goes to around 700-750 and the steering wheel vibrations go away. I do not have any cel on and I know the car is not miss firing. I think it's just because the low idle. Does anyone else have this slight vibration?

I've got the same issue ( My car suffered a crash and have been repaired and I thought the vibrations could appear after. I've checked another two cars (undamaged) and they both had this kind of vibrations, but less noticeable than mine.

That happened to me last winter - and wouldn't you know it, its getting cold outside again and it is happening again.
I actually took it to the dealership for it and they could find nothing wrong with other than it is within tolerances.
My take on it is that now that it is cold, the air conditioner compressor is not kicking on and it tends to rev slightly higher than during summer and causes the vibration.
You didn't mention which engine you have but I am guessing it is the 250? AWD?
I've learned to live with it after knowing it is "normal" from lexus - altho slightly disappointing as it is not what i come to expect from a Lexus.

I have a very slight vibration at warm idle (600ish RPM) but it's almost not noticeable. I have quite a bit of vibration on cold idle at around 1k RPM, but that seems to be normal for IS350 AWDs.

Like I said, it seems to be normal. All the IS350s that I know of have this behaviour in cold weather. Basically in drive when you're stopped, the idle will go up to 1000 RPM. I'm not sure what exactly is causing it, but it seems like it's idling high to warm something up. Once my oil temp is up, cabin temp is up, and (I presume) transmission temp is up, the idle returns to normal (600 RPM) with no vibration.
