Default Anodized my own F Sport Intake Blue - Cant wait to install - PICS

I got the F Sport intake kit for my B Day last month and was thinking of doing something different with it, so I anodized it.

I observed several things in this process.

1) I thought the pipe was just polished aluminum. (bought from Sewell). It's actually clear anodize with a laquer on it
2) Had to strip the lacquer and clear anodize off.
3) Mirror polish
4) Anodize blue

I will. Will be late next week probably once it warms up enough outside to do it. Minus 6 here today, so tools/garage = no thanks.

Can't wait ti see it installed. How long did the process take? Was it easy to strip the laquer, and what did you use to strip it?

Well, yes it was easy to strip because the anodize stripper I use took it right off. Otherwise. I would think a normal paint stripper would take it off.

I would think the whole process took a couple of hours. Largely because the part is new and in excellent shape to begin with.

Like electroplating, the better the part looks going into the dye, the better it looks coming out.
