Default OEM HID Lightbulb

So my understanding is stock OEM is 4300, for the 3rd generation the housing is D4s and the max currently available is 6200 right by phillip? if 6200 doesn't change color that much from 4300 then what are the advantage?

6200 is a pretty big color change. That's touching into the blue color spectrum. You'll lose a decent amount of visible lumens at 6200.
If you're looking for the brightest color, go with 4300k.
If you mostly care about the color and not the performance, then 6200.
A happy medium would be 5000k, and even at that i can notice a loss in lumens compared to 4300.

there are no "usable" advantages going from 4300K temp to 6200K temp.

Most people prefer a blue-er light as it is considered "cool", and consider it as "better"

for the best contrast and light output, stick to stock.

swapping bulb, is more for color preference only.

HIDs typically don't come in off numbers like 6200. Thats an odd number. Usually its 4300K, 6000K, 8000K, 10000K, 12000K. Going yellow to pink.

By going closer to 6000K, you will get a little bit more of a blue light. Expect something closer to an Acura, in which Acura uses 5500K. Also, LED headlights are very close to 6000K, so look at the Fsport models of the 3IS and that is pretty close to the light you will be giving off.

I personally think that 4300K HIDs look cheap. They give off a slight yellow light, and overall, I think look not very different from a halogen in a projector housing. I have 6000K in my camaro and I enjoy them. I think they give off a great brightness up close, and I haven't lost any measurable light out far.

However, if you go about 6000K, you will begin to give up light. If you've ever seen someone with 10,000K HiDs, they will practically blind you, but won't project any light forward. So really, 4300-6000K is your ideal "driving" light.

How many lumens in stock fsport?
Isn't it LED head lights and not HID?

how comparable is it to a HID 55W in our fsports?

The leds in the f sport are worse than the standard 35w hid. So a 55w hid will be much brighter than the leds.

Will projectors handle the 55W?

Yea it should be able to. But 55w does generate more heat than standard 35w. Ive had aftermarket shrouds deform with 55w hids due to the heat.

What exactly are you trying to do? I'm pretty sure there is no way to change the leds to hid using the same projector. You would need to retrofit a new projector into the housing, and to do that you would have to hack up the back side since it looks like the led housing is a sealed unit.

The bulbs I pulled out of my Canadian IS350 were OSRAM Xenarc 4150k HID bulbs... Not 4300k.

Depending on country, some are HiD and some LED

LEDs should be blue-ish

HID should be white-ish
