Feet off the pedal, speed keeps increasing
Today i wanted to slow down abit after hitting 75mph on a 65mph freeway so i stepped off the gas pedal. However the speed did not decrease but kept going up slowly to 80 till i stepped on the brake in order to slow down. After hitting the brake , it seemed to work as usual ( speed decreases when foot is pff the pedal). Had to do it multiple times today, has this happened to anyone ? Am i missing something?
Only happened on the freeway, once i got off it seemed fine.
2014is 250 f.
Thank you!!

Hmm sounds scary, but maybe it could have been you were going downhill on the freeway and you didn't notice. If not then cross fingers it's not anything similar to the carpet issue for toyota/lexus back in 2009.

Brake would cancel cruise control. This is my first car with more than a 4 speed automatic transmission. I notice it does not slow down when I lift from the accelerator pedal, but I have never seen the car accelerate on its own. I think maybe when you add gears, compression braking goes away.

Of course the brake would cancel cruise. It just sounded like the cruise control was engaged when the OP said the car slowed only after the brake was applied. OP said they took the foot off of the gas and the car accelerated. Only way I know of that happening without a malfunction of some type would be if the cruise was on.

Sounds like the sudden acceleration problem Toyota was neck deep in few years ago. I've never experienced the problem with my car, but I'd be pretty freaked out if I did. Let's hope it's not the same problem.

I very seriously doubt that. The sudden acceleration problem was reported as a full throttle situation. I even doubt it actually happened in the situations where it was reported. This sounds more like, when you lift, the car doesn't slow down. I know with the 4 speed auto in my ancient GS, the car would compression brake somewhat when you lifted off the throttle. I have noticed the IS does not do that. I very seriously doubt there is any defect with the car in this circumstance.

my dad, who used to own a 2IS and now a 3IS, complained to me about the same thing. the car does not "engine brake" as hard as other cars. this could simply be how the car is engineered, and not something that is actually wrong.
in my opinion, it could simply be that you were on a downhill and the car accelerated.
