Help!!!
I don't know if this is a stupid question to ask, but does the IS overheat? Today is a hot day, and I tried to start my car up, depressed the break, pressed my push to start, but instead of the car starting, the "Press down break and press start" message thing flashed a couple times and then the steering wheel console started generating weird noises... the message then disappeared entirely but continued making weird noises... I caught a video near the end of the sound it was making. I'll post that up. Also, now the car isn't recognizing me pressing the unlock or lock buttons on my remote. I thought it was a remote battery issue, but took my spare remote and it isn't responding to that either. If it's an overheat issue, should I give it a few hours and try to start the car up again later?

I have yet to experience a dead battery on my IS, but have many times in other cars. In my personal experience that doesn't sound like a dead battery. The only time the car makes any noise, if you have a dead battery, is when the starter is turning and you'll hear pretty quick clicking noises. That sounds like either a helicopter flying over, someone playing the drums really fast, or whatever your imagination brings. lol. i don't discount the fact that you have a dead car. i'm just surprised to hear something like that as a result of a dead battery.

He probably has VGRS which comes with the electronic adjustable steering column. When you turn on the car, the steering moves into your preferred spot then moves out of the way when you turn the ignition off. When my battery died, it was trying to adjust the steering column but couldn't because lack of power. The noise is coming from the gearing mechanism.
