3IS - Where do you place your phone?
hello all 3IS owners, especially those with nav
where do you place your phones when you drive?
i came from a 2IS, and the 2IS conveniently has an AC plug at the front, right at the bottom of the center console, which is perfect for a dock for my Note 3.
with the 3IS + nav, even the space to the right of the transmission has been taken up by the arm rest!
just curious as to where you guys put your phones when you drive..
have you guys found any good accessories to hold your phone?

The pursuit of F
One or two folks have put it on top of the seat warmer buttons ahead of the tranny, but to protect the finish, they got some felt-like material or grippy material you put in kitchen drawers and other spots.

Mine stays inside the armrest connected by USB, with everything voice driven or showing up on the NAV screen, I have little use to have it completely accessible. Plus it keeps me from being a distracted driver.

Sometimes I rest it on the surface in front of the nav screen. I'm surprised no one has mentioned that as a spot for their phone or wallet. Although I sometimes forget i put there when I leave the car since it's kind of out of sight.

My phone is too big for the cup holder, so I place it in front of my nav screen. It doesn't block the screen and it is within an arms reach.
Surprisingly, even under full acceleration, the phone never moves at all! I don't even need to purchase a non-stick pad to secure the phone. If I put the phone in the door handle under heavy acceleration I find that my phone goes flying into the back seat.

I keep mine inside the console, plugged into the AC outlet. It is out of the way, always charged, and works fine. I plug into the AC outlet rather than the USB for two reasons. First, the phone charges faster this way. Second, this method avoids potential glitches with Nav/audio connecting phone to USB (discussed in other threads).

thanks for all the reply guys!
i'm in the same boat as ultra, since i have the samsung note 3, my phone is too big for the cup holder
the best place right now for me is in front of the nav as some of you have mentioned
but i just miss being able to glance at the screen of my phone without having to handle it while driving
too bad not all message notifications are brought to the screen, or else i wouldnt mind not being able to place my phone within my line of sight!
