tint shop removing front panel?
I know there is already a thread regarding tint related matter. Was reading but didn'treally see this on there.
Went to a tint shop this afternoon, trying to decide what percentage tint to get. This shop only dealt with solar gard. Anyone have this brand on your car?
Anyways the guy said that he would have to take the front panel off to do the front window tint.
Did the place you guys take it to require to do the same? I was hesitant because once you start taking stuff apart it might not be the same again. I.e creaks sounds etc.

No panels need to come out. I have Solarguard HP smoke plus 20% all around. Great stuff. Clarity is excellent. I've used it on my last three cars.

I am a dealer for SolarGard and its good stuff...on top of that, I obviously tinted my own IS and there is definitely no need to remove the door panel if they know what they are doing.

Perhaps you are running into the same problem. Not that many shops have worked on the 3IS and if they have chances are they didn't tint the front windows.

Solar Gard - yup - have 5 cars with this brand of tint - as always the outcome rests with the INSTALLER. Material quality is good have used 50% - 35% - 20%.
The IS got 50% as the factory windows show a nice tint from the factory. I could have went with 35% and still would have been happy. Was trying not to go too dark on UW/Roja and with having dimming mirrors. Cost me $200. and the guy spent three hours doing the job.
NO panels were removed for the install (front windshield was not tinted). Look for another installer - Solar Gard also carries a good warranty through an authorized installer.

He's always super busy. Make an appointment. Three guys will jump on the car and you'll be in and out fast.
