Default OEM Alarm on the 2014 IS 250

Hi, All–

I have been looking on CL for the last couple of weeks for the best options for modifications to OEM factory alarm. The only options I can find is the addition of Glass Breakage Sensor (GBS), Part # PT398-53140.

I want to install a proximately sensor and a tilt sensor without adding another alarm after market. I don't want to mess with the wiring in the vehicle as I have been told by the dealer they are having a hard time with the Nav. on these 3IS with after market alarm installations. Not sure what to do?

My dealer wants about $440 for the part & installation of the GBS. Is this the best option? Or should I just install after market and hope the wiring does't get affected?

Thanks in advance for any input. I would like the additional security, but the only way the GBS goes off is if someone breaks the glass and for me that is too late

are you worried about someone stealing items in the car or stealing the car itself?

I want to stop all breakins, but as a realiest I know thats not possible! At most, I woukd like to add to the factory alarm without messing with the wiring in the car. How does Viper get installed? Does it add to the factory alarm and or disable as tye mian alarm? Thanks.

no alarm factory or aftermarket will stop a break-in. the best way to prevent is to not leave stuff in open view on the seats ect..
a viper alarm may come with a paging feature that may provide some peace of mind especially if you carry concealed weapon's.
but if they want to get in, they will! alarms go off all the time and nobody pays attention to them anymore.
