I have about 1500 miles until my next oil change which i was going to do myself. Might as well give myself an excuse to go to the dealer to have this done. the entire infotainment system sucks.

lol I have a 2015 IS350, I'm not sure if they'll give me the update since one of the links stated only year 2014. Maybe I'll ask.

from the looks of it when the 2015 has different hardware processor inside possibly that makes it run smoother without even firmware updates. 2014 had problems with the navigation from the get-go as you can see from this super long thread.
already posted the detailed list one page back on this thread of what this update fixes.

Is this update done for free when you go to the lexus dealer? I'm not sure how much I need this update but I recently got a used 2014 IS350 and noticed the gps is slow and doesn't exactly know all the routes.

Update: Got the update done, the system does feel a good amount snappier.
To address WhiteISWay's concern however, scrolling around in the map is still a bit sluggish. But it looks like it has improved some.
Service adviser said another update is due again sometime next month, so I guess we'll see.

I have an appt Satuday to get this fixed. In the meantime, I updated my iPhone 5S to IOS9 last night, and it "broke" the interface with the IS350. When I connected, it immediately went into call mode with my phone, and it would not disconnect. After repeated tries, I removed the phone, thinking that adding it back might work.
instead, the car won't recognize the phone any longer.
I hate to say this, but I never ran into **** like this in my 2013 Camaro SS. It just... worked.

I upgraded to ios 9 yesterday and mine still works the same. Try rebooting the phone.

I've rebooted the phone, restarted pairing process on the car, none of it worked. I've had varying levels of success getting text messages, emails, etc. to come through the system, and general connectivity issues to the system on this car.
I was actually told at the dealership that getting emails and messages is at best a "hit or miss" thing.

Thanks OP and everyone.
I am in Canada so was skeptical if we received a similar update to the folks in the US. Happy to say that I went into the dealership today and they do have an updated version (same as the TSIB article posted). I previously had random blue screens and BT not connecting (and USB mp3s won't play randomly).
Post update I do feel that the system is snappier. Will report back with updates in a couple of weeks.
