NAVIGATION SLOWNESS- Resolved
Hey all,
Thought I would let you know the issues with the navigation system have been resolved by Lexus.
If you are experiencing any of the following:
•Unit reboots at times when using various navigation/Bluetooth® operations.
• Display turns black or white, freezes, flashes, or is slow to respond.
• Intermittently cannot play Pandora® or iHeartRadio, Bluetooth® Audio, DVD, or iPod.
• Bluetooth® functions are inoperative or cannot change to Phone screen.
• Erroneous navigation guidance or operation, or cannot set destinations.
• Cursor is not shown, freezes, turns black, or is slow to respond.
• Incorrect pop-up menus or pop-ups that continue to be shown.
• Blinking button(s) on various audio/Bluetooth® screens.
• Cannot use customized images or other settings.
• Cannot select applications from the HOME screen using the cursor.
• XM Satellite Radio presets not displayed.
A TSIB has been released by Lexus as of a couple of days ago. Dealers should be recieving the USB Drives with the update on it.
Go to your dealer and reference TSIB # L-SB-0073-13

Yes you will have to go to the dealer, it is on a USB drive only the dealer has... i assume you can buy one and perform the update yourself but going to the dealer is warrantable and they buy the USB drive. Also, the version you will want which is the updated one is Program Version V10A8400.
to check program version:
Cycle Ignition to ACC- The Lexus Emblem displays on screen
wait for the display to switch to the caution screen. select continue.
Cycle the headlight switch On/OFF 3 times while holding down MENU
Select service information
select version information
select EMV-M
If the current version is less than V10A8400 you require an update.
Turn ignition off to exit service.

Yeah. Here is the thread. It sounds like GS owners also have this issue and Lexus didn't address it.

Scrolling through it just skips it... and you have to go 1 by 1 instead of skipping pages to see it.

I have the full service, so I guess I will be calling in to get someone from Lexus to pick up my car, leave a loaner, and do the "repair" (would be so easy to just offer it as a mandatory download)...
Maybe a tech can just get to my car and do the update on the spot, so no loaner needed and no driving needed (get to preserve my miles.. lol).
Lexus needs to get their game plan together. Bad Lexus... bad Lexus

Damn, they wouldn't pre-emptively update mine when I picked it up yesterday, but they said they also don't have the USB drive yet, anyway.
They also said to do this, they must receive a complaint and request for service, then they have to be able to reproduce the problem. Of course, the first time I tried to use Pandora, the entire system froze up and it kept giving me Pandora errors...
