I'll buy a lightly used 350 for 35k in 12 months.

So you are all okay paying close to MSRP or above when six months later they'll be wheeling and dealing?
I guess everyone has their priorities...

Yen exchange rate is depreciating by the day. A deliberate move by the Japanese government to make their industries more competitive.

I think most cars in the premium compact sedan segment eg Mercedes C-class, BMW 3 series, Infiniti G, Audi A4 and Lexus IS will be priced about the same for equivalent engines. It's not as if the IS is priced much more than its competitors. If anything, its price will probably be less than an equivalent C-class or 3 series.
Talking about cheaper non-premium cars with more horsepower or larger space is missing the point. If that price-to-features ratio bothers you, you probably aren't the target audience for the premium compact segment then.
If you want to buy new, then you have to pay to play. Either that or buy used like others are suggesting in this thread.

One of the selling points of the IS350 back in 2007 was compared to the BMW 335i the IS350 was about $5k lower in sticker price.. The IS was just a better value for the options included.
I just hope it's not priced too high.

no, I mean less. Its very common with Lexus. Every time a new generation comes out, it comes out at around $200 less to as much as $800 less. This happened with the new RX, ES, GS and I am sure IS.
Then the MSRP starts to rise per year after the first year of the new gen.

My bad. I didnt realize that since I would think the norm would be the MSRP going UP since it's the latest and greatest !!

yes for base models but at the same time not for loaded models. Loaded GS350 is now $10k more, while base was the same.
