Dedicated winter wheels for leased IS : to buy or not to buy?
Hey all.
Winter is coming soon and winter tires are required by law here in Quebec (which is a good thing, especially that I have the RWD version).
So I'd like to get the opinion of fellow members who are leasing their car and get winter tires : do you buy a separate set of (cheap) winter wheels, or do you just use the stock ones?
On one hand I'm worried I might damage the stock ones from all the abrasives they use on the roads, and I'm thinking 17" would be better in snow...
On the other it seems ridiculous to buy the wheels + TPMS just to protect the summer rims which will eventually go back to the dealer with the car! As much as I'd love to keep the original wheels intact, they're not mine at the end of the day! PLUS I'd need to resell those winter rims at lo$s if they don't fit my next car.
Opinions? Thoughts? Comments?
Thanks.

Let us know what you end up doing even if you just pick up some rubber. I'm in the same boat, I've got AWD though. Had some pretty crazy winter weather last week but it's the snow + much colder temps we get later in Winter that has me considering dedicated Winter tires.

I can tell you right away I'm probably getting the Blizzak WS70 (maybe the LM60's since most of my daily commute is highway).
Any kind of rim protection/coating you guys suggest for winter?
