I'm just shy of 5000 .... km... which is just over 3000 miles. The mpgs are really bad for my current tank but it's fully expected. The short trips have been 1 - 2 miles with lots of stops/lights.These trips are 6-8 mins duration to give some perspective all the while the engine is still cold. Summer mpgs, over normal (longer commute) driving have averaged around 23-24 city 29-30 hwy

Yeah, it's really bad for the 2.5L (even if it's AWD) however I consider my situation a near-worst-case scenario for any car (short of just idling all day long). It will improve this week when I commute back to work. I remember when I had my CT during the same two weeks last year under similar conditions (short trips in winter), my mpgs dropped to the high 30s compared to high 40s in the summer.

Thanks for the info. Did little googling and it seems Mobil1 0W-20 oil pours at temperatures as low as –47 degrees Celsius and protects at oil temperatures as high as 205 degrees Celsius which should cover any temperature that MN has.
Oddly enough 0w-20 oil is supposed to help with MPG!

are you really getting bad mpg or are you just reading the dash says?
reset your trip odo next full tank and run it to empty then divide it by your tank size. the dash is not always accurate

Mine has 2,700 miles on it and I'm lucky if it gets 14 mpg's.
50-50 city to highway, premium gas (Sunoco or Shell) and this is in ECO!
Which dealer did you purchase from? Where do you live?
I used Lexus of Queens and live in the Five Towns near JFK Airport.
Have you brought yours to the dealer for poor mpg’s yet? If so, what result?

I bought mine from Lexus of Edison and have not contacted them yet.
I live in Staten Island. I use the car for mainly for errands and to go to the gym. I am always with my son do don't drive aggressive. When I go to the gym by myself I give it a little more pedal. I usually drive in sport or sport plus but lately in Normal.

I do mostly city driving on my 350 AWD. I average about 18, typically, and around 21 with some highway thrown in. I have about 1700 miles on it.

I've been getting around 12l/100km (19.6mpg) lately, driving maybe 65% city, 35% highway. The cold weather has definitely hurt the fuel economy, especially for shorter drives. Doing short trips in any weather is actually bad for fuel economy. It's also worth noting that the highway fuel economy numbers are based on driving between 80-100km/h. If you regularly drive 120-130 (like me), you'll probably never get to the official numbers. I've seen this myself; when I'm forced to drive around 100km/h on the highway, I've seen 9L/100km (26mpg) for those trips. Doing 120-130 and I'm closer to 10l/100km (23.5mpg)

Lets face the truth.. american cars and pretty much all other auto company's are kicking lexus' butt as well as toyota and honda's butt's when it comes to mpg... how does the corvette stingray with massive horsepower still get 29 highway mpg?
we have long term vehicles and everyone else has good mpg.. it's a trade off for now.. pick your poison!
