help!is my wifes car totaled?
so after the crazy rains on Friday in southern California (Westlake village got 6 inches) I decided to pick my wife up from work and have her leave her car there bc the rain was crazy and my mom dropped the car off to us the next day...
all the sudden all these lights are now showing up...has anyone experienced this before?
Just wanting to know before I go to lexus and have them charge me $150 for a diagnostic...
I went to my buddies fathers shop and we thought it'd be the alternator bc it only shows 11.xx volts and even when turning on all the lights and radio etc...the voltage went down...it never went about 12.1 and that was when none of the electronics were one...once they turned on the voltage went down which lead us to believe it could be an alternator but the car still turns on...additionally the vsc and traction lights came on today..
help please!

This happened to my IS250 last month and it turned out to be my AF fuse that was bad. Check the fuse box and pull out the 15amp fuse to see if it's bad. If so, replace it and drive for couple of miles before the lights go off. The other is to check your intake MAF sensor and make sure it's tightened. I'd also suggest you go to Autozone or O'reilly auto parts and have them test out the battery. If your battery is more than 5 yrs old, it's time to replace it.

Correct, it won't affect anything with the backup camera. I was able to drive for a week without any issues. Only thing is my display error did not show "low oil pressure". That may be a different issue for you. It could be your oil pressure sensor is bad or oil pump is bad. This may involve a trip to the dealer for further diagnostic.

Wasn't the fuses.
since the car is pretty much all electronic..
pretty sure it's the alternator going bad.
car is whining and we hooked up a dmm to prove it wasn't charging.
still no idea why the ac doesn't work or the rear camera or the oil temp gauge...but I guess those could all be in sync with the alternator
