2008 IS250 Carbon Build Up Warranty
I just receive word from Lexus of Silver Spring, Md that my car is experiences the carbon build up issue But my 9 year warranty expire on 12/27/2016 so the service advisor is going to ask Lexus for a good will repair.
I brought the car in 3 months ago for the repair but the technician said the car wasn't experiences any issues. While I can't force Lexus to do anything but if they don't step up and fix my car. Their reputation will go down the drain. I should receive their response by the end of the week. I welcome all advice on how to address my issue.
Service advisor email to me.

Mr. Rogers,I had the Technicians take a look at the vehicle had 2 misfire codes. The technician contacted Lexus TAS and opened a case. They said it does fall under the carbon buildup but the vehicle is out of the extended warranty period for the enhancement. The Enhancement was for 9 years from the original date of 1st use 12/27/16.I am going to send a Goodwill Request as we are unable to perform the repair since the vehicle is out of the warranty period. EST for the repair is $9800.00I do not expect to receive a response until later next week on the goodwill request as it will not be sent until Tuesday.
When do you return from your trip??

If they don't cover the repair you can try and drive it as long as it goes. There are some things you can try to help it go a little longer (Water Decarbonization, fuel cleaners, etc). The problem is there may have been some cylinder or piston damage due to the access carbon. At some point you will need a new engine if you decide to keep the car. You can always find one at a wrecking yard (www.car-parts.com) and get a mechanic to install it for you. Still expensive but no where near 9k, maybe 5 k.
The only other option is to clear the codes and try to trade it in for something else or send it to auction. Kind of sweaty passing your problem onto someone poor unknowing soul but I suppose it happens all the time.

Thanks, for the advice.
Here is Lexus response to the Goodwill Request. They only want cover 2700.00 of the 9k bill. Are they freaky crazy.
Can someone post Lexus customer service number so I can speak to someone directly. It may not change anything. But at least if I complain it will help someone else out in the future. 3 weeks out warranty and you only want cover 25% of the bill.
