Default Throttle Blipping IS350

Quick question, i have an '07 IS350, and occasionally i blip the throttle when limiting the gears say from 5-3 or 3-2 ect. Now i do this by "downshifting" and immediately tapping the throttle and have to admit it sounds pretty nice with my exhaust. However i wanted to know is this harmful to the drivetrain/transmission? The car seems to transition to the gear much more smoothly and doesn't jerk into gear by blipping the throttle. Am i causing any harm by revving the engine to match the lower gear?

Not really, there shouldn't be any foul done as long as you're not blipping the rpm higher than the gear you're downshifting to.

I used to blip throttle all the time, in my manual though.

The IS auto we have is **** at best, I don't ever use the paddles or manual shift, I can't be bothered going grey waiting for it to select the gear.

In our auto trans, it's completely unnecessary. In an manual trans, it's helpful to rev-match for a more smooth transition between the gears.
