I would guess it doesn't work because the system changed between 2008 to 2009 and up. It might work with some rewiring. The nav won't fit into the slot either without trimming.
Actually the change from Gen 5 to Gen 6 navigation happened in the 2010 model year; units from 2006 - 2009 are compatible with your 2007 nav-equipped car.
