2008 IS350 with Accident History - Should i Bail?
So after quite a bit of searching for a white 2008 IS350 with Navi and decent mileage i thought i found one. $12,990 with 88K miles. but when i ran the carfax i see the following accident. A minor accident doesn't worry me, but this one seems odd as it happened in 10/2013 and doesn't hit the road again until 06/2014. Also seems to be front end with structural damage. About 30k miles have been put on it since then. I know i should probably bail but wanted to see what you guys think.

Ask the seller or dealership if you can take the car to your mechanic or your auto body guy. The auto body shop can tell what was done and if it was too bad or not. I had a toyota truck years ago and the woman took it to a auto body shop and they told her to pass on it due to previous damage.

I would pass. I would rather purchase a vehicle with mechanical issues that can be fixed then with structural issues that will never be fixed. Tires wearing weird, doors not closing normally, seams all out of whack. Just not worth it.

Glad you took advice
Structural Damage
This happens when any part of the vehicle which is part of the main body or frame, or is designed to ensure structural integrity, is damaged. Even minor car frame damage from a trivial collision can seriously undermine the structural integrity of a vehicle.Examples of vehicle components which are part of the body or frame include suspension mounting, lower and upper frame rails, and for unibody vehicles, the A, B and C pillars, windshield, rear window frame and rocker panels.
Anything which can be bolted on is not considered part of the underlying structure.
Cars have either a unibody or frame construction.

I think most people here summed it up well. For the future though, avoid ANY car with structural damage. Reason being is quite simply it could be fixed and running as of now but could cause ridiculous problems later on. Repair shops could skip over a part that might need to be changed that could be crucial. Long repair periods tend to also be a huge red flag. I tend to avoid salvage titled vehicles altogether just because even the slightest accident could kill the value of the car. Plus, that price is ridiculously high for a car that took that sort of damage. It should at most be 10.5k.
You'll find another car soon. Buying a car is a huge decision to make so its important not to rush.
