Default 2012 Lexus IS350 Winter Rims Don't Fit

Hi Guys,

Long time lurker, short time owner of 2012 IS350.

Got winter rims and did not check whether they would fit. Well they don't Front caliper barely touches the rim barely need like an extra 1mm... What is my best solution for this? Is there a way to extend via spacers, if so which do you recommend? Should I just get other rims?

Rims are aftermarket and were previously on 2009 IS350.

Thanks,
Yaro

Would 3mm work? Is there a specific distance between caliper and rim that's minimum?

225/45/17 same as stock.

Would I also need those for rears even though I think they will clear?

is your car RWD or AWD ? AWD you need same size all around 4 wheel, RWD has stagged setup which 225/45/17 front and 245/45/17 rear.

If you want aftermarket you need wheel offset from +35-+45 because stock offset is +45 anyways you bought it already now you need a set of wheel spacer !

Buy wheel spacer with adapter they should look like this, it's safer than the one without bolt lug nuts, i think minimum size you can get is 15mm, and the tires should be 225/45/17 or 225/40/18 trust me don't go over 45 profile on IS you'll end up mess up your differential case. there are bad thing and good thing with Wheel Spacer, Good thing is the car will look cool and aggeresive, bad thing is your Wheel bearing life will be shorter.

We have the same car mine 2011 AWD IS350, my recommendation is, get rid of those rim and get the smaller offset like 225/40/18x9 OFFSET +35 or 225/45/17/x8 OFFSET +38 , the wheel and tires will cover up for fender and more space for 350 caliper and you dont need wheel spacer, in my opinion will spacer is stupid and its not safe.

to clarify:
with AWD, you need the same size all around, but you do not need the same offsets all around.

You can run spacers up front, without running them in the rear.

Ah, thank you for the info. Checked it again and the tires are 225/50/17 with an offset +41.xx. Looks like new rims/tires is the solution? Car is AWD.
