Default '06 IS350 Maintenance

Hey guys,

Just got off the phone with my local Lexus dealership inquiring about a 105k mile service and they recommended a carbon clean out for $230. Does the 350 need a carbon clean out? I thought that problem was with the 250's.

Additionally, I found out that the previous owner did not get the spark plugs changed out at 60k so I am long overdue for that, but they quoted me $515 plus tax. I know it has to be done but is this a reasonable price? I don't have any experience working on cars and this is my daily so I don't trust myself to do the DIY.

Appreciate any input.

Skip the carbon clean-up service and purchase the Denso spark plugs yourself and have any shop install them for you at a fraction of the cost. Should be a 30 minute job, and you don't have to remove the intake manifold like on the IS250.

Both 250 and 350 can build up carbon. It's just that the 350s have a very small chance of having issues compared to the 250s due to having port injection on top of direct injection. But if your car idles and drives fine, just skip that and do the spark plugs.
