Question please helllpppppppppp~~~!!!!! [with question about broken tie rods]

Please help me,
Long story short: I have a 2008 IS250 AWD, and my (passenger side) inner and outer tie rods broke, I connected it back again but it's not safe to drive. I'm going to take it to the shop tomorrow, but on the phone they said "according to our book, it might take 10 hours to be replaced because something else is blocking it, like rack or some kind of gear". I have no understanding in this and I want to seek you guys who have done this before. Does it really take that long to replace the rods or are they BSing with me to make more money? Please help ASAP. thanks a bunch!

Mitchell Labor Guide shows 10.4 hours for AWD. RWD models 2.4 hours.

Some serious dis-assembly is required to replace the inner tie rods

Outer tie rods are no big deal AWD or RWD.

Alignment is required also.

You might want to find a mechanic that specializes in Toyota or something that has more reasonable shop rates than a Lexus Dealer. This could end up costing some serious coin at $100 + an hour + parts.

I feel like puking after reading that Gregz post....crazy.....

I found a mechanic here in DFW that only works on Toyota, Lexus and Honda and that's it. He worked at Honda for 15 years and his partner worked at Toyota for 15 years and they opened up a shop and their rates are half of what Lexus charges.

PSA: Don't look for a mechanic after your car breaks, find one while it is running good.
