2006 rear brake rotor replacment question. *pics*
greetings,
so im in the middle of replacing my pads and rotors. Im starting on the rears and when I removed my old rotors, two metal disk like things fell off. when I look where they go, i believe I found where they go, but not sure.
is this correct? and is it suppose to move freely like this? and is the wholoe back assembly suppose to move around?

I forgot to release my ebrake before starting, could that be the problem to all this? should I release it now? I will wait for help before moving forward
Ok so looking up a diagram I see that the springs came off and I put there back
But the new rotor doesnt seem to want to go on and hits to top of what I think is the Front and rear shoe, idk if im suppose to bang it in with my rubber mallet but I read that it should slip on easy

That round thing is the hold-down spring retainer/washer. In the pic, it appears to be facing the wrong way. The spring goes over that long anchor pin and the retainer slides through the pin and locks in place to hold the spring in place. It's easier to youtube the procedure than to explain it.

To get the shoes to fit, you need to remove all the adjustment play from the adjuster barrel. See minute 12 in the video.
E-brake needs to be released.

I didnt remove my shoes only the rotor. So should I release the e brake now? or bad idea mid way through? or is my ebrake the reason I cant slip on my new rotor?

That is definitely one reason. I'm surprised the drum came out with the ebrake engaged - the ebrake pushes outward the shoes to grab the drum. Put blocks around the front wheels and release the tension from the ebrake. If drum does not slide in, you will have to adjust the adjuster barrel. It self-adjusts when you engage the brakes in reverse. But you don't want too much play.
