While driving home last week at night my 2012 IS250 began to make an extremely loud noise from the front of the car. Clanking and screeching when in motion and when turning the steering wheel. Checked under the car the next morning but I couldn't see any obstructions. I had the car towed to my great independent mechanic and he found the problem to be a rock lodged in the brake rotor. I would never have guessed that would be the cause. He said it's more common than you think. He fixed it no charge so I had him put in new plugs while he had the car. At 76,000 on the original plugs they needed to be changed. I can tell the car performs much better now. Has anyone else had a rock stuck in their brake rotor?

I have, but it was a simple grinding noise. I dislodged the rock though easily by putting it in reverse and hitting the brakes.

It's happened to my friends before. It's more common than you think. Pretty easy repair.
