Automatic Transmission Slipping 1>2
whats up club Lexus, i just got back from vacation and the FIRST thing I noticed is my slipping transmission from first to second gear. this has been happening for a while bow and it drives me nuts i hate how the car feels like it jerks, like someone in a manual who is just starting to learn. i know for sure I should change the transmission fluid but I'm not sure if that will fix the problem and it is a lot of money for me right now to put up. Any experience with a slipping transmission then changing the fluid?

All these posts about transmission issues here recently. Kinda scary! How many miles are on your car?

i have 156k so its not unbelievable im having problems especially with this whole "lifetime fluid" bull****. i bought it at 140k and im sure previous ownerr never chaged it... anyways it only SOMETIMES slips its weird.
@Gville ive looked and can get a 2013 tranny with like 20k miles for 800 then labor to put it in. i have to get quoted on the labor. kinds expensive route but basically new transmission
@whitebeast i read p2757 can either be just the solenoid or the whole torque convertor and we cant tell unless someone opens the tranny (aka labor$$$). how much did your solenoid change cost if you dont mind me asking?
yes i believe many of our cars have a faulty transmission. Only complaints with this car is the Carbon build up and transmission

$800 is great for such a low-mileage unit!
Why I say replace it instead of messing with fluids and noids is because like a clutch, the internals of an auto trans has clutch packs and they're a wear item. Once it gets to the level of where they tend to slip, these clutches have been overheated and have glazed over. No fixing that.
Good luck! Let us know what you end up doing.
