Default Replaced Battery. Touchscreen not working now

2008 Lexus IS 250.
Bought used with no warranty.
Battery was tested slightly low before I bought it but they would not replace it.
It's been a year now and finally had to replace the battery.
Went to change AC and touchscreen not responding.
Weird thing is that the map still responds to my touch but no matter where I tough the screen the map scrolls to the right.
So I know the touch isn't completely dead but maybe needs to be calibrated?
Has anybody run into this before and have a fix?
I already knew about problems with the touch screen prior to buying and knew how expensive they are but took a chance anyway.
I reeeeally cant afford to dish out for a new screen.
Any help is highly appreciated!!

Sounds like the digitizer has gone out on it. Unfortunately it is all too common of an issue; however, the good part is it can be DIY-fixed for < $100.

After reading a few other threads on the issue I'm inclined to agree.
I found an ebay link on this site for digitizers running $50 each.
Only question now is to how difficult getting it installed is going to be.
Thanks for your response!

I found a guy on eBay and who I believe is also a member here. He repairs them for 200 bucks. Positive things so far, if I have that problem I'll give him a try. Look on eBay for screen repair. I'll link him belown

I had to repair my nav screen a couple of years ago. Pretty much the same problem you are describing. No matter where I touched, it was like touching one particular spot. I didn't replace the digitizer. I used a silver conductive pen. I didn't really expect it to last this long. When it goes again, I'll just get the digitizer.Pretty cheap on aliexpress

I'm not too mechanicallyrics inclined and I did mine. I bought my digitizer off ebay.
