Default D2 Racing Coils owners HELP!

Hey to those who have these coils. Is it supposed to be really bouncy? No matter which way I turn the dampening, it still is bouncing alot and its getting annoying. Also my car shakes and vibrates whenever I hit the freeway at higher speeds, can anyone help? I just need it to ride firm and smooth at the same time keeping that soft lexus ride.

That is the description of the coilovers. For example, I have BC coilovers with spring rates 16k in the front and 14k in the rear and the ride is a bit bouncy. Especially if I have a high dampening setting. The higher the spring rate means the car will feel stiffer, less wheel movement while going through bumps, and a bit bouncer.

This is because of the spring rate. Higher spring rates will require more weight for it to compress which results in those side effects I mentioned above.

Usually you can see your spring rate on the spring itself. There is a sticker on it. Or maybe it is just mine because mine had it.

Have you done an alignment recently? I need one as well since I installed my coilovers a week ago. I was just waiting for it them settle down and break them in.

Then I have no idea what my spring rates are lol. People are telling me it may be the preload, I bought them off a guy who sold his car. I also got them installed and Aligned the same time. How can i know what is my spring rate?

If you jack up the car and try to rotate the spring it shouldn't rotate. If it does rotate then that means your preload is off.

Figuring out spring rates when they are not stated on them is tedious. I found this video with a quick Google search. It's the only way that I know how to figure that out. In my opinion it's not worth it. Just check your preload.

Look at my rear coil. You can see that it is stated on the spring. Not sure if it's just certain springs that they do this. Not sure if you can see it properly. You might need to zoom in, but it says 140 which means the spring rate is 14k.

every coils and lowering springs are bouncy and stiff, if you want firm ride get back to STOCK suspension, Most Lexus is lower profile tires too so you know. nowadays cars are made like this even if BMW or Mercedes , my brother has a Jeep SRT Grand Cherokee Hemi Engine with sport suspension and the tires+rims = 275/60/20 the car is bouncy on highway, my Toyota Solara TRD with TRD suspension feels much better than his on a 225/45/17 , if you are new to lowering the car, wait till the coils get settle down, go for an alignment and balance your tires, someone above just said it, drive it for 10 days and then alignment+balance, i lowered many sport cars since the 90s every car feels the same, that how sport suspension rolls bro !

I've had springs on other cars before like eibachs and they were smooth but too soft to wear I bottom out hard. I've gotten cheap coils before and they were worse, they bounced alot and we're super stiff. The d2s I have now are so smooth and i like the adjustability. I've had guys that say it's abit bouncy but it goes away after awhile so fingers crossed. As for the low, Im not that low, I'm trying to raise it up abit more like at least 1 finger gap. And I hear mixed reviews on D2s some say they're bouncy and some say its not, I'm hoping it's just the preload.
