Eye on '11 IS350...things to look for?
Found a clean, one owner 2011 IS350 with premium package for my better half. 79k miles.
I'm an LS430 driver myself so I know in general how good Lexus cars are, but are these as reliable as LSs? I've fixed a worn control arm bushing in my 12 year old 430...that's it. I'm hoping for/expecting the same type of bulletproofness and solidity.
The mileage is a little high but I don't care as long as these are very reliable cars. No timing belt, chain instead, which is nice on the wallet. It's been serviced at Lexus its whole life.
Are these solid cars? We need another Lexus to drive the wheels off and I can get a good price as I know the sales mgr.
I did see something about frames bending and dents in the roof after potholes? That's a little scary.
Also, seeing that many auto trannys fail at around 150k? True? I just change fluids, etc. in my 430 religiously and plan to take it to 300k with no powertrain issues. Looking for the same durability.
But oh, I want this car for us. 0-60 in 5.1 seconds? Yes, please!
Any germane info for a first time IS buyer would be appreciated! Things to check for, etc. I know the basics, obviously, but it never hurts to get input from here!
Thanks!

They're good cars.
I wouldn't worry about the roof dent issue. I have a minor dent, I thought it was from a pinecone falling on my car, but later realized that I already had the dent and had just never noticed it before. It's fairly minor and I would take this issue over some of the issues on other cars any day.

if it's helpful in any way I was also doing research since I really like the 2nd gen ISx50's and found the best deals on carguru's. They seemed to have the absolute lowest prices and are usually certified. I couldn't find any big problems and just bought mine about 6 months ago off there for 25,500. it's a 2012 is250 AWD with 12,800 miles. no issues yet and is a really nice drive.id say keep searching 🙂

We bought it!
Pics and more info to come soon.
Wow, the difference in power 350 vs 250 is astounding.
Still not even remotely as smooth as my UZ V8 in my LS430, though
So far, so good! Love the car!

The car is great! I can't believe how fast it is, lol. I launched/floored it from a light and was at 80 in no time, lol.
I am not the primary driver but I will be driving it whenever I want! Can't go wrong with an LS and (fast version) IS to choose from!
