Theres some pretty lame recalls out for the 2IS like the windshield wiper arms nut being loose....

I dont recall any serious SAFETY concerning recalls for the 2IS, so dont bother if it makes you nervous. My dealership wont touch my car anymore since its so modded, so i havent had any recent recalls done since 2012. They are pushing it on you because if something breaks, it can look bad on Lexus, theyre just doing their best to fix known probelmatic parts and keep the brand as reliable as possible.

keep on keepin on

Ok so I was just like you about turning in my car. So one day last week I was trying to register online DMV and it wouldn't let me, I looked at my registration paper and I need the EFL recal performed by the dealer in order to get my tags.......ssooooo no choice, I made an appointment turned in the vehicle got ALL the recalls done, not sure how many but a whole lot..... I talked with the consultant service tech and when I turned in the car me and him did a walk around on my car. I told him I was really picky at anyone working on my car, he told me he understood and that he would take care of my car as if it was his. Well that was Thursday, I picked it up today and did a walk around and the car had no flaws on the outside at all. Drove it home and it felt the same no issues. Also on the list for the dashboard and door panels, so yes get it done cause your gonna have to anyways because of the DMV.....

His profile says he lives in Florida. If that's true, he won't have that problem. Recently read about this in reference to the VW diesel scandal, and owners that might not comply with the recall because they are concerned with poorer performance and/or mileage:

In the three states with the most VW diesel cars caught up in the emissions scandal, only California withholds registration renewals from cars that fail to comply with recalls. In Texas and Florida, which have the second- and third-highest number of VW diesels after California, there are no emission standards in place for diesel vehicles.

Just get the recalls done if possible. I was holding off on the fuel sensor leak recall on my 06 is350 but i finally decided to do it since I dont wanna risk my car to catch fire or something bad like that. Anyway i finally took it in today and I now have the pleasure of knowing my car is being fixed for free, i get a full tank of gas, and a car wash and complimentary inspection.

Plus they even lent me a NX200t lol. Cant complain one bit

If the people that make my car call me and tell me something needs to be replaced because it could fail...

I listen to those people.
