Tire Time...
Thinking about replacing the tires on the 2IS (my kid's car)... down to about 50% tread. As school is in upstate NY, and with moderate snow, need decent all-season rubber. $tealer wants to put on the Michelin Primacy MXM4 @ $204 each.. I looked up that tire and it's one of those "low rolling resistance" tires, which means they're hard as a rock and probably suck in snow/ice.
I was thinking about going with the NEW Conti's ExtremeContact DWS 06 (replacement for the DWS), which has a better looking thread pattern than the DWS. Anyone have experience with this tire, or a recommendation for a good AS tire (yes , I know snow tires are the best for the snow, but that unfortunately is not an option)

Nobody is going to have real world experience with the snow performance of the DWS 06 yet, since the tire just came out this spring. I have the original DWS on my IS350, and was pleasantly surprised to find that the snow performance was nearly as good as the dedicated Pirelli SnowSport winter tires that I used previously.
