Put car in Park and it idled at 1250ish rpm?
Should I be worried. This was after the engine was driven lightly for 5 minutes to pick up a friend. After words no problem, but I find every time the car is in park the RPM generally goes higher compared to D. Also when I go WOT there is always a small puff of Black Smoke, is that a worry or a sign of replacing anything?

What was the temperature when your idle shot up to 1250 when you put the car in park during warmup? It wouldn't be in the least bit surprising in cold weather, but it seems a bit odd during the summer.
As for the small puff of black smoke, that's normal, and due to the fact that the computer errs on the side of running a bit too rich when you floor it.

It is normal for an engine to be spinning faster in Park than Drive. You are not connecting the engine to the wheels when you are in Park so there is less load on it and it will spin faster.

If you disconnect the negative terminal on the battery for 20+ minutes it should reset everything and it will cause your car to relearn the idle rpm (and your driving style). I think my IS350 idles around 800rpm in Park and around 600rpm while stopped with the shifter in drive, but YMMV based on environmental conditions and other factors. Right after a cold start it idles at over 1k rpm and goes down to normal after a few minutes of warming up.
