I might be overcautious but I'd hate to screw myself over in the end ya know?
Ya I know what you mean. I bought the car off another owner and he never mentioned having an extended warranty so I think I'm out of luck. I will look into the carbon build up. Thanks

Oh don't fret my friend Lexus recognized the carbon build up issue and extended the warranty for that issue alone to 9 years/unlimited miles.

Bought an aftermarket oil filter from O' Reily for $9. Going to just drop it off and my friends' family shop tomorrow morning. How do I get rid of the blinking "Oil Maintenance Change Soon" whenever I start the car.

Will bringing it to the dealer prevent the carbon build up. I haven't done much research on the problem.
i was just going to buy that oil today. how many bottles does it need per oil change? i want to pair this oil up with the 60k mile service kit from sewell

Our car uses 6.6 quarts. So the costco ones come in six bottles of one quart. So you need a little more than six.
