Newbie Question bluetooth related
Hey guys, I just got an 06 IS350. It has some issues but I'm very happy with my purchase!
Anyway, I have the buttons on the steering wheel for bluetooth, and when I start the car the screen will say "Bluetooth connection failed" or something along those lines. I've been searching a little, but I can only find bluetooth setup for 07+. I opened the "INFO" menu and I don't have phone settings there.
It does have an AUX port in the glove box, along with NAV. Is there a trick to it to setting it up? Or does mine simply not have bluetooth?
Also one other thing, I noticed a few threads mentioning ML, mine is NOT a ML unit.

Bluetooth setting should be the same for almost all IS model years. Since i think you've got a pre-owned, maybe you need to delete previous owner's setting and set it up again.

I believe it's the same, with the same "no phone book" sync with iphone. Also, no A2DP for music. I picked this up for $19 at Walgreens...
Works like a charm for music, and phone/music switch seamlessly. It's rechargeable so no USB in your '06 shouldn't be an issue either. Lasts about 8-10 hours per charge.

I know what it's *supposed* to do, and that it locks out when in motion. OP is trying to pair his phone said that hitting the info screen doesn't display a phone icon. So hitting the phone button on the steering wheel *should* pull up the keypad and phone options, enabling him to get to the BT pairing screen. When I said "you" I meant the OP, not the collective CL. I'm assuming OP is not looking to pair a phone while the car is in motion..

Nothing at all, there's two buttons on the right side on the steering wheel. It shows a picture of the phone, and one with hanging up motion.
On NAV itself, it shows no phone option, but it shows "bluetooth sync fail" or something along those lines. I don't think the NAV hack is still hooked up (if at all?) cause I can't do anything (NAV wise) if the car is in motion.

I shot two videos last night,
The first one shows the bluetooth connection fail, it happens roughly after a minute after I hit "I Agree", it also shows in the menu how I don't have the phone option

This video shows me hitting the phone buttons that do nothing. I did this while stuck in traffic
