Recall - Free Gas - Bad Karma or Being Smart???
Yup...it's about that time...to get my VVT Actuator cam gear recall fixed...
Less than 2 days left before i get this done...
I made an appointment 3 weeks ago...
Anyways...i heard that they fill up the whole tank with Free Gas and also give you a loaner car for a whole day...
hmmmm...
2 more days before my appointment and i still have half tank of gas in my car...
so i am making plans to drive around and empty the tank before i take it to the dealership...
that's not all...after i get the loaner car...i have also made plans to go visit some relatives that stay about 150 miles away...so there and back will put 300 miles on the loaner car and will most likely empty it's tank of gas...
Anyways...so will i get Bad Karma or is this Being Smart?

How will you know if they put premium instead of regular because this what happened to me when I bought my car he was like ill go get you a full tank but at the same time he was like you can use regular gas but really it says premium on the gas door

^ You make a good point lol. I work at a dealer part-time right now while in school, they ALWAYS tell porters to put in regular gasoline cause it was about 50 cents cheaper than premium per gallon. The other thing is that most dealers will make you return the loaner cars with the same amount of gas when you left the dealer.

When I brought in my vehicle for the recall, they provided me with a loaner vehicle and said that since my vehicle was getting the recall done I didn't have to refill the fuel that I used on the loaner vehicle.
Also, when you go and pick up your vehicle, make sure that you pop your hood and inspect the engine bay. The reason why I'm mentioning this is because after I brought my vehicle home I opened my hood only to find that my silver engine cover was filled with cracks and broken, they even went to the extent of trying to glue the broken pieces back together. Whats disappointing was that I was never notified about anything broken when I went to pick up my vehicle.
When I went back to the dealer the customer service guy tells me "Oh, we wouldn't do that." But luckily I didn't run into fight with dealer because when he went to investigate and spoke to the mechanic that work on my car, he supposedly admitted that he did damage my engine. So at the moment I have a new engine cover being ordered.

Smart. I wouldn't drive around just to waste gas. That's dumb if you're talking about that. I personally brought the car in with the gas light on and put about 1100 miles on the loaner. If there is no mileage limit then why not? This time I was assured that they were gonna put premium in, but I feel like they have put regular in before even though they all should know this car takes premium.
