Light Sand Sticky Door Panels
My wife's IS suffers from the sticky dash and door panels. No local interior guys will touch them. Her dash is fine but she has small indents/knicks on her door panel where her finger nails or ring hits the material.
Would it be possible to lightly sand that area to make it smooth and then redye with a black leather dye? Or what about the kits that have leather filler and the dye?
Has anyone tried this?

Thanks for the responses. I'll check into the used panels. It seems like leather filler and redye would work well for the small indents. I just dont want to hack up a $1000 dollar panel!!

I'm a little late on this thread.. My wife's IS350 has the same exact problem. Dash is in great shape, front door are in rough shape. SO I took of the door panel tonight to see if that part was separable from the door its self.
These tabs that are what is hold the nasty part of the door on to the good part:
Spoke to one of my interior guys that recovered the seats on my supra and he was telling me it could be done. You'd have to drill those tabs out and after you recover the nasty part, put screws back in where you drilled out..
I'm considering doing this, especially if I'm just going to buy used door panels anyways are another option
