Clicking / Slapping sound from rear when accelerating
Hi all,
On my way to the office today a loud sound started, originating from what seems like the rear passenger area of the car. The sound gets louder and faster as I accelerate but falls off around 40mph. When cruising the sound is audible but much less so than when my foot is on the gas. Turning does not cause the sound increase/decrease so I dont think it is a CV issue. The car seems to be driving fine otherwise. Also, no check engine light.
The car is a 2006 IS250 AWD with about 150K miles on it. I appreciate any help or ideas. Thanks

Sounds like it could be a bad axle.. good luck cuz those are pricey. But I would check and see that there is nothing jammed in anywhere in your drivetrain. I once had a loud ticking sound come from my rear end and it turned out to be a branch got caught way up there one fall day
