I saw a thread a couple months ago that had a YouTube vid attached, showing an Ipad install in a dash. Not sure if it was here or on DIYMA. Sweet install regardless, and look forward to lots of pics of yours when you've finished!

I'll have ya beat in 2 weeks. I'm installing my galaxy note II on the lower portion of my navigation.
Pretty simple honestly.
1. Purchase device
2. Remove CD player behind nav.
3. purchase note II dock
4. Cut hole big enough to fit dock through in the CD player area of navigation panel
5. Mold
6. Wait for mold to cure/harden
7. Insert note II in dock
8. Win car shows

By the way your friend will have enough cable to run the emergency flasher button and clock to the bottom.
I've taken the radio controls out 7 times now... The cable will be long enough for his plans to move the flasher and clock down.... Everything else he has planned.... Well, I'd like to see how he pulls it off on a NON-nav dash.

Stupid question of the day.
If you run a mini Ipad for navigation, does it need a data plan for the mapping software???
I need Nav in my car and the factory $2,000 option is pricey.
