I have a security switch on my wall mounted opener, flip the switch and the door can not be opened. Part of my routine before I go to bed every night is to flip the switch. My car lives outside but the garage is secure.

most thieves try to avoid confronting the owners.... so its unlikely that they would risk opening your garage and then going inside, where you could be waiting with a shotgun.
Where you could be more at risk, is if you are dumb enough to program the "home" option on your gps to your real address.... then people can steal your car, use your navigation to take them to your house, and then let themselves in (while you spend hours trying to get home). Always program this option to a nearby store or intersection.

Dome fuse in the engine compartment also connects
to home-link power. Using schematics from an IS300, I noticed home-link power and dome light power are wired together. Today, I removed the dome fuse in the engine compartment (passenger side) and the home-link did not work. I am going to wire a "hidden" switch to control this fuse and disable home-link when I leave my car outside. Hopefully, the "thieves" will not figure it out.

how are they're so many comments on this thread?? what is this thread even for... welp whatever, i'm pretty sure that they're are more subtle ways for someone to break into your house then breaking into your car and using your homelink button. I don't thinkk you'll ever have an issue.
