Question about a damaged wheel well cover...
So I dropped my car on Megan coilovers 2 weeks ago and haven't had any issues with rubbing. 2 days ago I added spacers and there is definite rubbing going on now. I'm really not worried about the sound because I am planning on modding the fender tab in a day or two. I guess my main concern is that the plastic wheel well cover has had a hole rubbed through it from the tire and am wondering if I should be worried about water getting in around where the fogs and headlights are? It's supposed to rain in a day or two and I won't drive it if it will damage anything.... Sorry if this has been covered already, I'm on my phone and it's a POS. Thanks in advance......

Good to hear, I'll take my time modding the tab ha as for the spacers.... What kinds of things have you heard? I've seen on here that a lot of people run them and the look is a lot better IMO, so I got me some lol

I also read on another thread that because the tire rubbed a hole through the wheel well cover, their HID's were damaged by water. That scared me so this is the reason for the post. I was thinking they probably had aftermarket HID's.

If I were you I would use a heatgun to remold the fender liner. Search "heatgun" and "fender" youll get a bunch of threads about the proper procedure. The fender liners are there for a reason, you may not have any problems running with just a hole worn in them but there is a chance that you could short something out. For the price of a heatgun and the time it takes to re-mold them I would rather play it safe and not allow water to get in back there.

If you are lowered and attempting the fender tab mod, don't waste your time with a heat gun and re-molding the liner. I wasted a couple of hours on this with little help. I've got a good, sized hole in my liners near the fender tab...but it doesn't get close enough to warrant a mod yet. When I get new wheels though, that will change. LOL!
And about the spacers, it is MUCH safer to run extend ARP studs for an IS300. And in fact, the removal and install of the studs really isn't that difficult from what I've read either.

Definitely liked the look, but my tires are too meaty for all the dips I have to go through here in UT and my fenders were paying for it lol so I raised my car a bit until I find me some new rims
