Default Air Intake Air Duct Removed??

Hi. I was wondering what your guys opinion is on removal of the air intake air duct that connects from the air box to the front grill area. I removed it and currently, the f-sport intake starts growling at about 2.6k instead of 3.1k. Whats your opinion on removal of this air duct? Right now there don't seem to be any issues with sensors or anything but since removing the air duct, it will allow more hot air from the engine into the air box instead of cold air from behind the grill, any harm to the car? Or maybe messing with the cars sensors and computer? Also dust/sand/water getting into the box area? Pics will be posted below. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I got into a car accident like two months ago. Since I have liability (thought a lot about full coverage but not worth the premiums I were getting) and in college, I'm been dragging with repairs due to the cost. My frame is slightly shifted to the driver side but car drives like before. A problem is that the air intake duct does not fit properly until I get the frame fixed which is the last thing left right now. I've been driving for more than a month and have not experienced any downsides without driving it. The filter isn't getting any dirtier than before and the car hasn't lost any noticeable power.

The obvious question I got is why do you want to remove it? It will pull in more hot engine air, worse for me since I got a SRI.

without the snorkel it'll pull air from the engine bay, with the snorkel it takes air from the front of the grill kinda like a ram air effect AND pulling in cold outside air... theres really no question to ask~

Cold air is better than warm air for your engine. Why do you want to remove it?

How are you tires doing after that month of driving?

No uneven wear or anything. I even put lowering springs on while waiting for the replacement parts to come in. Still haven't gotten an alignment either since I'll wait to get the frame repaired and then do the alignment.

I have had the OE intake snorkel removed since I've install a SRI. The SRI doesn't have any sort of heat shield, so personally I think the use of it is kinda pointless. But if I had an F-sport intake box, I would use it.

I highly doubt that you will see gains or losses with it there or not there.
