Water Pump
Got my oil changed today at a Toyota dealer and they said that my water pump looked to be leaking... they said they could fix it for ~$700.
Anyone else replaced theirs? If so how much and is that something they could see/know from an oil change?
Thanks

Mine was done around 27k miles, but about 4yrs after the original purchase. So hopefully it'll be good till 100k.
Curious, is there a known defect with the water pump, seal, etc from the factory? What exactly is causing all of these pumps to leak? 1 out of 5 to me would be a recall-type of issue.

I have 71k miles so there goes that.
I've been mulling over selling the car for a while - it would be nice to not have a payment while trying to pay for a wedding - I love the car but am afraid of this exact thing, expensive repairs.
I have a 250 so there goes that too.

I had 22,000 on my 2008 and the water pump seal was leaking. Replaced under warranty last October. This is the first water pump that I have had replaced since my family went to Toyota vehicles in 1980. In my Dodge products it was common, especially if you overtightened the belts.
