I just purchased a complete set including the ashtray cover but minus the center console as mine is a 6 speed for 180.00 shipped on e-bay.

Nice that's a great find. Since the dark bird's eye maple is out of an 09 and up I think. I could only use the center console, ashtray lid, and rear door pieces. I found the center console for about 300 plus shipping on ebay.

Post up some pics of your interior

The Piano Black trim is not just black in color, there is also pearl. I'll try to get a picture.

Well, it's not really piano black, not sure who started calling it that. It also doesn't really have any pearl either. It's a metallic black with flecks in it. Similar to Toyota's Black Sand Pearl exterior colour.

What kind of paint would I need to use to do this myself? I like the black look. Or would I have to go to a body shop?

I imagine you could technically do it with any type of rattle can paint. Sand your trim, use a good primer that promotes adhesion (like a primer specifically made for plastics), paint with base coat (color), and then paint with clear coat. Once dried, wet sand the clear to produce a completely smooth surface and then polish to perfection.

ecr527 that is very nice job on the interior. I'm in Miami, can you give me the name of the shop that did it? Also did they take out the panels or you did it your self? Thx!

Thanks for the pics. I think it looks great. And they did all of the trims for $30, labor included?

I'd much rather have the silver.

7 years later, I've changed my mind. I prefer the black.

What do you like about the piano black over the silver interior, since you've had both?

What color was your trim before? One shop said they can't change my trim to piano black, and suggested some sort of wrap instead.

Cross-posting into this thread.

I'm having a hard time finding a shop that will paint the interior trim like this from earlier in the thread:

#9

Most shops are declining the request. I'm contacting them through email and linking to the picture above for reference of what I'd like done.

A few suggested vinyl wrap.

Only one has said they would do it, and I haven't heard back yet how many hours they estimate the labor.

Have you had any problems with scratches or anything?
