Default Backup Sensor Problem

For the past couple of weeks when putting my IS350 in reverse the far left hand side back up sensor will not quit beeping until I put it in drive or park. It will beep like this on a completely flat surface. Anyone have any ideas? I new sensor is about $180 so if this is fixable that would be great. Thanks in advance!

Maybe it is salt on the sensor? I have to wipe the salt away with my fingers as small amounts of salt cause the sensors to beep constantly.

I thought the same thing, but after washing the car it still does it.

The weird part is that it doesn't do it all the time. I drove about 300 miles over the weekend and it did it every time I put the car in reverse. But this morning it didnt do it at all. At lunch today it started back. I cant figure it out.

I'm curious too. Why don't you call the adviser at a dealership and maybe they have ideas? Then you can tell us what they said.

Now that you mention it, I think you might be on to something. This week here in NC it has been in the mid 60's and it hasn't done it all week. The times it had done it, it's been very cold. Thanks for the input.

Anyone resolve the issue?

I have the same issue at the moment. But it's mid 80's where I am right now. It seems to happen when the car is parked with the sensor in direct sunlight. But only happens occasionally.
