Default I Wish I can Afford This

http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...5&aff=national

It looks nice, real nice. The only way I could afford this, is if they give me around a 15% ($3,000) discount. No down payment, and a 6 year term. Payments will be $320 a month, including tax (9.75%) and apr (5.27%)

I just want an IS. I don't drive fast, but it would be nice to have the power for bragging rights. Also, an IS250 is like, base model, so I would want to go a little higher to an IS350.

I would happily take any of these, as long as it's clean title and doesn't have any problems:

How long is your term and how much are the monthly payments?

I would sell mine for $18k if someone walked up to me with cash but I would probably have another one within a year.

You know - with a repo on your credit report its going to be tough getting another finance - let alone a 5.2% rate with no money down. GL.

Thing is, when it did get repoed, it wasn't just under my name, I think I cosigned with my dad. Will it still effect me a lot?

Also, how long do I have to wait (or how high does my credit score have to be), for me to be approved for a rate that low?

When they were having the promotional 1.9% APR, the salesguy told me I'd qualify if my credit score was over 600 (which is crap).

Try credit unions, their rates tend to be better than big banks like BofA, then you can use that rate to bargain with the dealer.

Sorry to say - but yeah, I think it will affect you a great deal. I'm no credit expert but can only rely on my past experienced. I can only think you would need a score in the 700's (not sure which ones the finance company would check) to get an APR in that range. Not that many banks are given credit yet to high risk people. First things first is get your credit report and see what it is. Then do some research online. There are some good credit forums out there that can give you some good advice on how to deal with bad credit scores. Not easy - and certainly not quick - but definitely a must do. GL.

Isn't the Promotional 1.9% APR still going? The website has the December to Remember event.

I'm sure that my credit score is over 600, and since it is, I qualify for the 1.9% APR?

I don't know if the 1.9 is going on. Just drive by a dealership and see if it's plastered all over the walls

What APR you pay is not based solely on your credit score. Your income, job, assets and what is in your credit report is also used to determine what your APR will be.

Save and buy something you can afford (at least 50% down). Buying something you want but can't afford...aka six years!? is crazy = lifelong financial troubles.

Lexus doesn't plaster the APR's over the walls, nor do they have inflated gorillas and searchlights on the lot advertising their cars.

The promotional rates vary for each model, some get them, some don't. And it varies by region as well.
