Question about brakes & spark plugs
Hey Guys,
So my IS250 has about 42,000 miles on and the brakes seem like they are getting a little wore down and ready to replace. I went to the Lexus dealer to get the low dust brake pads for the front and back and he said it would be 130 bucks! IMO that seems really high but I wasn’t sure so that’s why I am here, I was wondering what brake pads I should get and what are good and bad and which are the low dust pads. Also I heard that you are supposed to replace your rotors when your replace your pad is this true?
EDIT: Guys I already have the low dust pads on my car I am looking to and REPLACE the ones I have already becasue they seemed to be pretty wore down.
Now with spark plugs how hard are they to change on the IS250? My car is an 08 IS250 6 speed manual and it sure looks like it would be a pain to change them but I wasn’t 100% sure or not.
Thanks,
Ryan

Go into Lexus and tell them you are getting a TON of brake dust and you have to wash your wheels like crazy!! There is a TSIB on the large amounts of brake dust. They will change them FOR FREE. And no you do not need to change your rotors when you change your pads unless you are laying on your brakes 24/7 and you warp your rotors. Spark plugs are easy!! Heres the DIY Link...next time DO A SEARCH!!! IT HELPS!!

One time I brought my IS in for some service and the dealer automatically applied the dust free pads. They were, like, HAPPY to do this for me haha.
Too bad I moved away and now go to another dealer that blows chunks. They "claimed" on the sheet they replaced my gas pedal for the recall and was going to give me a free tank of gas!
I didn't get new floor mats, I didn't get a free tank of gas, and I don't think they even did replace my gas pedal. I looked at it after I received the car and it was muddy, very muddy. So unless the driver who returned my car to me had very muddy shoes, they did nothing.
Perhaps, I am wrong with getting the gas pedal replaced. Maybe they just do something else?

Also, the TSIB only applies to the front brakes; the original poster wanted the back done too.

I mean I hope it's just as easy but I wanna make 100% sure first before I start pulling stuff off the car. Did you pull the intake manifold off the car to chnage the plugs on the IS250?
