Making a manual IS350
Random question, but does anyone know if its possible to hook up the new Toyota/Lexus GR V6 engines with the old Getrag Supra 6 speed? I know it wouldn't be cheap to do such a conversion, but is it possible and has anyone thought about it?
There's a whole community of SC400 owners hooking up the V160 and even the 5-spd W58 to the old 1UZ V8's. I'd love to eventually get an IS350, but I hate the fact that it doesn't come in manual like a true sports car should. The fact that Lexus today doesn't have a single manual tranny car except that POS IS250 which is Corolla slow is what's keeping me from even considering getting a new Lexus.

I think you just answered your own question. Yuppies who are too lazy to shift and Kobe Bryant's wife buy auto lamborghinis. As for the IS250, it does 0-60 in over 8 seconds. A base Honda Civic is faster than that.

It's definitely faster than my POS 2004 honda civic with only 115 HP.
I can't even get on the freeway without getting honked with the civic. I have to be a perfect driver or have someone with perfect direction... because that POS can't cutoff any cars.
I could've sworn that car has a 1/4 mile time of 5 minutes.
BTW: No reason to compare the two. They are in different classes: luxury and compact. One will get you there with style and other without.
