Default Making a manual IS350

Random question, but does anyone know if its possible to hook up the new Toyota/Lexus GR V6 engines with the old Getrag Supra 6 speed? I know it wouldn't be cheap to do such a conversion, but is it possible and has anyone thought about it?

There's a whole community of SC400 owners hooking up the V160 and even the 5-spd W58 to the old 1UZ V8's. I'd love to eventually get an IS350, but I hate the fact that it doesn't come in manual like a true sports car should. The fact that Lexus today doesn't have a single manual tranny car except that POS IS250 which is Corolla slow is what's keeping me from even considering getting a new Lexus.

So are you saying that Lamborghini Gallardo with auto isn't a true sports car?

Why are you even thinking of converting IS350? It will probably be cheaper to buy a TT Supra than getting IS350 and then converting it to manual.

yea i think manufactures are shifting to the auto transmissions because of the dual clutch technology having odd gears on one and even gears on the. the clutch switching back and forth. it only take milliseconds for it just to shift.

i though the is-f only comes in automatic from the last time i remember, but it does have the triptonic manual mode.

i think it be cool to finally have stick is350 with the is350 motor. it might be a big adventure. im sure once its done everyone would praise you than copy you . yea its pretty odd that the is350 didnt come in stick

I think you just answered your own question. Yuppies who are too lazy to shift and Kobe Bryant's wife buy auto lamborghinis. As for the IS250, it does 0-60 in over 8 seconds. A base Honda Civic is faster than that.

yes it is slow, but sufficient enough for most people..and there is more to a car then just speed.

It's definitely faster than my POS 2004 honda civic with only 115 HP.

I can't even get on the freeway without getting honked with the civic. I have to be a perfect driver or have someone with perfect direction... because that POS can't cutoff any cars.

I could've sworn that car has a 1/4 mile time of 5 minutes.

BTW: No reason to compare the two. They are in different classes: luxury and compact. One will get you there with style and other without.

I hate statements like this just because we have 100 less HP. Sorry we are not up to your standards
