I just received my OEM.THING trunk and roof lips. While test fitting, I noticed that it looked like water will collect in the center of the trunk lid, behind the trunk lip. The 3M tape on the lip will create a "bowl". Do I want to cut the tape in the center to let this drain under the lip? Will this create problems with adhesion. Is this a problem for those that have them installed?

The 3M tape they use is much like the tape/adhesive used to put the IS350 and LEXUS badges on the trunk lid. The way you get badges off is to run a piece of dental floss under the letter/numbers and lightly "saw" off the badge through the tape.. (Then clean up the rest with GooGone or WD-40.) Maybe the same method would work with the spoiler.
You don't have a flat surface to work against and you would have to pull the floss over the existing lip of the trunk, so not sure if this would work.
Just a thought.
