Nav Question-No Map
My daughter has an 2006 IS 350 and the map display stopped working. And for some reason it was locked on a lcation 200 miles north of us. I manually reset the location, but I still can't see the map. All I get is the picture of the compass when I press the map button. The dealer said that the disk is bad. Has anyone run into anything similar? I would hate to spend $200 for a disk only to find out it is something more extensive.
Thanks

Ahh... I fixed similar issue to my friend's ISx50.
Did u reboot the system yet? All it takes is 30 minutes.
Simply go to the Driver Kick Fuse Panel.
TURN CAR OFF -
Remove/Replace the two TV fuses for about 15 min. One is a 10 and the other is 7.5.
TURN CAR ON -
Now u will see the system booting. It will take several minutes and do not interupt it.
Now this completes rebooting your system from the Map Disc.
If u are unsure of which fuse, take pix of the white panel and i can help u.
Good Luck!

I also have a 2006 IS and one time when I was driving back from the Florida Keys, the nav had me positioned in the middle of the ocean, approximately 50 miles or so off from my actual position. There is a TSIB for the 2006 navigation system. I called my local dealer about it and they said I would have to buy a new nav disc. When I mentioned the TSIB, all of a sudden I got the "oh okay, bring it in and we'll take care of it". They replaced the navigation DVD. I haven't had any problems with it since. Do a search on navigation TSIB and you should be able to find something on this.. good luck!!
