Default Front foot well lighting

I just purchased a 2007 IS 250. Question does the front foot well lighting stay on all the time? The manual said you could shut the light off by the instrument panel lighting control ****, the only thing bad is it shut off the instrument cluster and shift gear light when the head lights are on. They question is the front foot well supoose to stay on all the time?

Yeah, its on all the time. You probably can just disconnect the led if it bothers you.

While the footwell light stays on, it should dim noticeably when you put the car in gear, and brighten when you put the car in Park.

(On cars with auto tranny, at least. Not sure whether the lights dim in cars with a stick....)
